rules

Rules

they keep us safe,
grounded
buffered from harm.
They order our lives when all about us is chaos,
Like a railings, turnstiles, and razor-wire.

But at a cost,
penned in
corralled
isolated from the the unknown,
Like walls, fences and opaque glass

But walls have doors, fences gates,
For a reason
To break the rule when it is no longer required
When it becomes both superfluous and arcane.
Its security overruled by a higher power.

when the pleasure outweighs the pain,
and the risk more worthy than the solitude
When Love beckons...
There is no need of gates, doors or passages
For the barriers melt away in the newfound reality....

True love
It does not shield one from harm, but embraces till all harm ceases to exist.
