the christmas spirit

Spirit

it can be hard to give

receive

accept

cynicism and anger oddly enough 

are more easily accepted in our hearts when 

the spirit is what we truly need

the hardest thing sounds the easiest -

to be open - just open

turn our face to the breeze

see the good in a stranger

see the reason we fell in love all those years ago

to look past the scars of negativity and hubris that  lashed  at us since

so for this season of seasons,

all i ask - 

albeit a mondo ask-

is to open your self to the christmas spirit

smile at a stranger

feel the snowflakes on your cheek

let the bad go where in belongs - in the abyss

and be open to the good that may come your way this christmas day
